National Family Reunion Month

In 1985, the US Congress designated the period between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day as Family Reunion Month, in order to raise awareness of a growing trend of kids running away from home and to help facilitate the reunification of families. Another designation by some folks is for the month of August to be Family Reunion Month since most kids are out of school and many people take vacation during that month anyway.
